We have wrapped up the first Avant Garage home and handed over the title to the proud new owner. Just before he managed to get his stuff in, I grabbed a few quick shots of the interior to share. Remember, I am about as much of a professional photographer as Mike Tyson is a professional conflict resolution therapist. Also, please note that these were taking during the traditionally frantic, pre-close, cleaning time and some of the images may show floors and other items before our crack team of polishers got to them. Okay, enough caveats. Enjoy.
This first image is taken from the living room in the back of the house. Key items to note are the storage stair into the kitchen, the open riser stair to the second floor, the lovely custom kitchen by our slowly forming Bosky Design and the cool windowing on the front facade. Things to ignore, the warping of the image caused by setting my lens as wide as it can go (tried to fix it a bit but . . . ).
The next pic is a better look at the sweet Bosky kitchen. This is a full bamboo kitchen with an upgraded Geos countertop, and we think it turned out quite nice if we do say so ourselves.
Now a quick look from front to back at the spacious living room and the impressive triple pane windows. Sharp eyed folk who have been keeping up on their carrots might also note some sizable outlets on the wall to the left. Those are part of the upgraded AV wiring which will soon be an available option in our customization tool.
This shot from the top of the stadium stairs shows the cut out in the stair wall and one of our split ductless units. It also offers a nice closeup, if somewhat out of focus, look at the countertop material.
Here;s a look at our custom open riser stair. We will likely devote a post to the building of these stairs and our revised plans for future sets, so I’m not going into it now.
For our most boring picture, I have chosen a shot of the master bedroom. It’s uninspiring nature is no fault of the bedroom itself, which I assure you is awesome. Rather, it is a shortcoming of the photographer and his equipment.
And last, but certainly not least, the master bath featuring another Bosky Design piece in the vanity. Purebond plywood wrap, shiny laminate doors and just the right sink make a great compliment to our dual flush toilet.
And in case you were wondering where the shower is hiding, here is another angle to sate your curiosity.
Well, that’s all the pics for now. Next time we will have some exterior shots including the roof deck and backyard. Until then, ask questions, compliment, critique. Do it all in the comments.
Also, let’s not forget that we still have a couple Avant Garage homes available for customization. Yours could be the next one I take passable pictures of.

Wow! This looks beautiful..
Great work, the house really came together – looks amazing.
A nice clean home that’s ready for occupancy. Nothing beats the feeling of a house owner about to make the structure a home worth living in, especially if it’s a green dwelling. Custom green homes are becoming popular these days which is good news for the environment.
just asking—what happened to the 100k house blog? will it be archived at some point?
Just got it back up. Sorry for the downtime.
I like the stairs how you can see through them to the next stair case below. Many builders do not add touches like this.
